Kylie Minogue says her cancer ordeal left her with “mental and physical scars”

During an interview with Paris Match, pop star Kylie Minogue – who’s singing live on this weekend’s edition of The Voice – has revealed that her battle with breast cancer has left her with “mental and physical scars”.
However brave Kylie, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2005, went on to say that despite having “incredible anger” over her illness, she feels very lucky to have been a survivor, and said she now feels like “a cat with several lives.”
She said, “I feel like a cat, having had several lives. In my career as in my personal life, I made enough bad decisions to land me in deep water.
“Finally, I haven’t got out too badly.”
Of her cancer battle, Kylie added, “Over time, people have a tendency to forget about it. Not me.
“Not a day does not go by without me thinking about it. Just looking in a mirror is enough – the scars are moral and physical.
“There are days when I feel an incredible anger, others when I say that I was very lucky in my misfortune…

“I always try to present an optimistic picture. At first, I look very open, but basically, I’m pretty reserved.
“I knew I was strong, I was fortunate to be surrounded by people who really loved me.”
During her treatment for cancer, Kylie was dating Olivier Martinez, however, their relationship ended in 2007, and she’s currently seeing Spanish model Andres Velencoso, who she says is “the one.”
She told the magazine, “Love is hard work. I have never believed that marriage was the be all and end all.
“There are people who think that a beautiful story will last a lifetime. I tell myself it will last as long as it lasts, I’m less disappointed.
“I’m wiser, more tolerant, less demanding. I am very happy today because Andres totally respects who I am.
“If I’m looking resplendent or I wake up haggard, it is the same.
“And when I go into a spin for no reason, when I feel totally clueless, I ask myself a thousand questions, ‘Who I am, what I want, where I’m going?’ He is there.
“I am cured and very much in love – it helps! Andres is handsome, friendly and also very easy going.”
In 2009, Kylie’s sister, Dannii Minogue, revealed that her sibling’s fight for life had had a tremendous impact on the whole family.
While appearing on Pier Morgan’s Life Stories, former X Factor judge Dannii said, “All I wanted to do was get inside the door of the family home and see my gorgeous sister and hug her.”
This just goes to show as women, we are amazing!

"Hard nipples" - areola or nipple skin

Someone once wrote"... when i get really cold, or get goosebumbs all over my body, the whole things really scrunch up, like, my entire areola scrunches itself up into a wrinkled little mound. it looks really weird and ugly, and i haven't ever seen other people's breasts do it. what is wrong with my areola/nipples??" The answer: Well nothing is wrong. This is what my areola does too. It's a normal reaction to the coldness or to irritation / stimulation. The little muscles in the areola do a similar goosebump thing as your other skin can do. People often call this phenomenon "hard nipples". Also note that skin on areola has less feeling or sensation to it than other areas of your body. If the areola was very sensitive, then breastfeeding would probably be quite uncomfortable because the baby pulls and tugs it! The nipples are sensitive but the sensitivity changes with hormonal changes, such as occur at mestrual cycle or pregnancy. Also this v...

Mastectomy Drain Breast Cancer Treatment

The  purpose of drains after mastectomy  is to drain away the fluid that can gather in the armpit region or around the scar on the chest wall. Some people after mastectomy also find that fluid gathers around the shoulder blade area on their back - this seems more common if the muscle from the back has been used for  breast reconstruction  at the time the mastectomy was done. When mastectomy is done - and especially if the lymph nodes are removed from the axilla or armpit - then there is a lot of tissue fluid and lymph fluid left with no where to go. This fluid normally flows through the lymph channels but if they are cut then it can escape into the normal skin and muscle tissues. Your surgeon will place drains under your skin after mastectomy. These drains gather up the fluid and remove it to a bottle (or bottles) that you carry around with you. Some people use a  belt clip to attach the drain  to their waistband - making them more mobile. Others car...

Pancreatic Cancer breakthrough

Published Today By  Ana Sandoiu Fact checked  by Jasmin Collier New research now published in the  Journal of Natural Products  shows that a vine compound is highly effective in the fight against treatment-resistant pancreatic cancer cells. #cancer #cells #pancreaticcancer #breakthrough #natural #journalofnaruralproducts #cure #survivor #iamstillawoman #Anasandiou #jasmincollier A type of rainforest vine may hold the key to effective cancer treatments.  Pancreatic cancer  is notoriously difficult to treat, and the condition has a poor outlook. According to the American Cancer Society (ACS), the 5-year survival rate for people with early-stage exocrine pancreatic cancer is  12–14 percent . A  new study  explains why that is and offers a potential solution. Gerhard Bringmann, a professor of organic chemistry at the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg in Germany.  Specifically, human pancreatic ...
