Cancer support - Triple J

It's a common problem in this day and age. In Australia we will pay for drug addicts and unemployed. This is outrageous, as most know there are not many avenues for help for Cancer patients. Too proud to ask people for help, this was exactly my predicament. This morning on the radio there was a great promotion by Sydney's radio station Triple J. It's Called we will pay your bills. A cancer sufferer with 3 small children rang up to see if her car insurance could be paid. It was $957 for the year. I was so happy that they said to her. Oh yes we can pay that for you. Plus let's raise it to $1,200 and there is a night out for you, hubby and your 3 small children. What a great way to start the day, she was overwhelmed and very delighted. Her voice was happy and grateful and you could tell that the radio staff were also very delighted. They then said please keep in touch with your progress. What a great promotion. Whilst only a cancer sufferer knows that the mental and financial battle gets tough. Community spirit once again kicks in to help the ones in need.
Fantastic Triple J you also made my day. Keep up the great work.

Mastectomy Drain Breast Cancer Treatment

The  purpose of drains after mastectomy  is to drain away the fluid that can gather in the armpit region or around the scar on the chest wall. Some people after mastectomy also find that fluid gathers around the shoulder blade area on their back - this seems more common if the muscle from the back has been used for  breast reconstruction  at the time the mastectomy was done. When mastectomy is done - and especially if the lymph nodes are removed from the axilla or armpit - then there is a lot of tissue fluid and lymph fluid left with no where to go. This fluid normally flows through the lymph channels but if they are cut then it can escape into the normal skin and muscle tissues. Your surgeon will place drains under your skin after mastectomy.
