Cannabis what is it?

Cannabis is a drug that comes from Indian hemp plants such as Cannabis sativa and Cannabis indica. The main active chemical in cannabis is THC (delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol). Cannabis is a depressant drug. Depressant drugs do not necessarily make you feel depressed. Rather, they slow down the activity of the central nervous system and the messages going between the brain and the body. When large doses of cannabis are taken it may also produce hallucinogenic effects. Can Cannabis kill Cancer ?

For thousands of years people have used cannabis for recreational, ritualistic and medicinal purposes. In the modern era, the latter property excites a lot of people, and there is no shortage of wild claims about the supposed medical benefits of the plant. Of all the claims, perhaps the most bold is the assertion that  cannabis can cure cancer . Astounding testimonials about cannabis and its derived products shrinking tumours or curing terminal cases are easy to find on the internet. But alluring as these stories are, they tend to be based on misunderstanding, wishful thinking or outright falsehood. Let's start by asking what the medical efficacy might be. Contrary to what most people believe, medical uses of cannabis have been widely studied. A  2017 review  by the National Academy of Science looked at over 10,000 studies. They found evidence for some applications of cannabis, including managing chronic pain and spasms associated with multiple sclerosis. There was also

Movie of the week - The changeling

https://youtu.be/57_t2BFZaK8 Oh you want to see a movie that's based on a true story, omg it's so good. 1920's with Angelina Jole In 1928 Los Angeles, single mother Christine Collins (Angelina Jolie) arrives home to find her son, Walter, gone. Five months later her prayers are answered when Walter is found in Illinois. But to Christine's horror, the boy who steps off the train is not her son. Authorities vehemently dispute Chr istine's claim, and her one ally is a clergyman (John Malkovich) who sees the case as his chance to expose corruption in the Los Angeles Police Department and government. #changeling #angelinajole #christinecollins #movieofthemonth  Straczynski's film  Changeling  focuses in part on the battle of wills between Collins (Angelina Jolie) and J.J. Jones (Jeffrey Donovan), a police captain who locates a boy he says is Collins' son — despite Collins' insistence that he's not.

Super berries - causing cancer cells to self destruct

Super foods are not a new concept in the health and nutrition world, but we are proud to create the term “super berries.” What is a super berry? Super berries contain high amounts of specialized nutrients and powerful antioxidants that create  apoptosis ( pronounced a-pop-toe-ses ). Apoptosis, often called “ cellular suicide ,” is a natural process creating the fine balance between cell death and cell renewal. It’s a crucial  system used by the body to get rid of cells that are abnormal, mutated, or no longer function properly . Cancer cells alter and grow in a way that avoids the self-destruction caused by apoptosis. Traditional forms of cancer therapies such as radiation, drug therapy, and  chemotherapy  can’t tell the difference between healthy cells and mutated cancerous cells – so all fast growing cells are destroyed, whereas apoptosis only targets cancerous cells. Scientists have now discovered that certain super-foods and super berries can help prevent cancer an

Friends the good the bad and the ugly

Going through any bad things in life. You can certainly see who is good to be around and who is not. I remember my friend Lyn saying wait till you go through a divorce you will see who your true friends are! That's so true. Also in an illness and battle it's the same. I think we also change circles of friends through life too, which is a great thing. I have Lucy my life friend 53 years. My Travel buddy Ann friends since kindy. So why do we keep people around and why do we Toss out the garbage. You have to spring clean anything friends are no different. Don't keep people around that aren't good for your mental health. Your mother and I have shared the most amazing journey together. Good things, bad things and together we have supported one another. I am so lucky that my friends are gems. How cancer impacts mental health

How Cancer Impacts Mental Health Some patients may lose the ability to be independent. Others find that energy levels plummet and activities that were once a source of enjoyment are no longer possible. Care must be given to allow the cancer patient to experience their disease in whatever manner is best for them. Patients frequently experience a process similar to grieving after diagnosis and during palliative or end-of-life care2. There is evidence3 to support the existence of PTSD within both cancer survivors and cancer patients. This is a direct result of traumatic experiences associated with the disease, and because the potential for a fatal prognosis is high. A study looked into the prevalence of mental health conditions diagnosed in cancer patients of working age; the study identified that nearly 30 percent of the patients in the study were diagnosed with a condition prior to the end of the study. As the national statistics for diagnosed mental health conditions is approxi

Mental Health in any illness is hard to maintain

Any serious illness can impact mental health. For patients, caregivers, and their loved ones, going through cancer can be a devastating experience. Receiving a potentially fatal diagnosis, going through treatment protocols, and learning to live with limitations can cause depression in many patients, as can side effects from the treatment itself. Managing mental health needs is a crucial part of the treatment process, and may even impact prognosis.                Where do you go? What do you do?  Family and friends are already not coping, so talk to strangers there are so many places with volunteers and kind hearts.  Salvation Army offers an amazing service.  Cancer council have a hotline call them.  In every country of the world there are resources in place.  Your never alone, I know your frightened I am too. But your not alone. Keep that gorgeous mind healthy as possible.  Your worth it.  Have a great day #mentalhealth #avoidingPTSD #iamstillawoman #yournotalone #survivor

Body recovery Chemotherapy

Treatment can last for anywhere from  3 to 6 months . During that time, you would be considered to be immunocompromised — not as able to fight infection. After finishing chemotherapy treatment, it can take anywhere from  about 21 to 28 days  for your immune system to recover. I think it basically took me 6 months. I could still taste it and I was sweating it out. The body is amazing in its healing ability.  #healing #chemotheapy #cancer #infection #immunity #survivor #iamstillawoman

Sex and Chemotherapy

About sex and chemotherapy Some people carry on with their sex lives as normal during chemotherapy. Others find their treatment changes how they feel emotionally or physically. Effects of chemotherapy on your sex life Some changes are simple and won’t last long. They won't affect your sex life permanently. Sometimes you may feel: too tired not strong enough to be very active sick or sore  not in the mood anxious or low Your anxiety might not seem related to sex. For example, you may be worried about the cancer and how your treatment is going. Or you may be worried about money, or about how you family are coping with your illness. These things can cause stress, which can affect your interest in sex. It’s important to talk to your partner about how you feel. Remember – the changes to your sex life don't usually last long. There's usually no medical reason to stop having sex during chemo. The drugs won't have any long term physical effects on your p
