HUDSONVILLE, Mich. (WZZM)- Hudsonville's first brewery is helping in the battle against breast cancer, one pint at a time.
White Flame Brewing Company opened in January 2012. Owner Bill White previously worked as a construction worker, helping build a portion of the Van Andel Research Institute. His wife also works as a researcher at the institute. That's one of the reasons why they created Hops for Hope, a campaign that donates a portion of beer sales to cancer research.
"Breast cancer is something that touched both our lives. Our maternal grandmothers both passed away from complications from breast cancer, so we feel that it's a cause worth supporting and other people will feel the same," said White.
Throughout this summer, a dollar from every pint of Hooterville Wheat sold at White Flame Brewing Company will go to the Van Andel Research Institute.
Cheers Bill!
